ABOUT US
Desta Alcohol and Liquors Factory Plc. was started its operating businesses in 2001 G.C by the leading purposes of producing and supplying high quality alcohols and liquors targeted for domestic and export markets. The factory is situated in the northern region of Ethiopia, in the capital city of Tigray, Mekelle. It is found and laid down on a total land area of 43,000m2 in the endowed high land area of Quiha. Since its establishment, the factory has served its customers for above two decades.
Our factory is one of the pioneer and esteemed company of beverage processing industries of the region that has been established under the regional industrial developments with the aims of alleviating poverty through the industrial practices of producing and packing various alcohols, liquors and vodka products.
On the sphere of the fact, the factory has been designed to create backward and forward agro-industry processing and market networks with potentially profit-making target groups including grocery houses, restaurants and other major alcohol distributors.
In the due courses of an organizational goal in the food and beverage processing industry of the region, the factory has preliminarily played a great role in supplying and distributing of high quality industrial alcohols, which are required for the drives of manufacturing of medical products, seed breeding, agricultural researches, disinfections, beautifications, window and electrical cleanings, university and institute researches, food processing and other beverage companies for serving immediate individual drinks by employing and utilizing high-tech machineries.
Moreover, the factory currently produces different standard products of liquors (distilled spirits) ranging from the pack sizes of 200ml up to 890ml based on the customer demands of local markets and Vodka products form 500ml upto 1000ml are bottled and packed industrially. The factory’s annual production capacity is designed to produce 6,000,000 bottles of various alcoholic liquor standards and specifications per annual.
In the intervening time, our factory has been generated employment opportunities about 250 jobs for permanent and temporary employees.
The factory is also working socially and economically responsible to safe its ecological health through doing a persistent works along with waste material treatment management activities such as launching of Waste Treatments Plant by capital of Br. 37 million. This has been intended to realize the green economy program and is an environmentally friend with the biodiversity management of the region as well.
